1.   Title

This Order may be cited as the Provinces and Districts Boundaries (Division) Order.

 

2.   Provinces

The Republic of Zambia shall be divided into the Provinces mentioned in the first column of the First Schedule and such Provinces shall be known by the names therein assigned to them.

 

3.   Districts

Each Province of the Republic of Zambia shall include and consist of the Districts listed in the second column of the First Schedule and specified opposite each Province and such Districts shall be known by the names therein assigned to them.

 

4.   Boundaries of Districts

The boundaries of each District shall be as specified in the Second Schedule.

 

5.   Revocation of Statutory Instrument

The Provinces and Districts (Division) Order, 1977 (211 of 1977) is hereby revoked.

Starting at a point on the Mushingashi River where the Zambia Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary crosses the Mushingashi River, the boundary follows the Mushingashi River down to its confluence with the Luwombwa River; thence down the Luwombwa River to its confluence with the Mulambo River; thence up the Mulambo River to its confluence with the Kasanka River; thence up the Kasanka River to its confluence with the Lunsambwa stream; thence up the Lunsambwa stream to its source; thence in an easterly direction crossing over the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Strip Reserve and the road (Great North Road) T2 to the southern edge of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Stripe Reserve; thence southeast direction to the source of Bulelele stream; thence down the Bulelele stream for a distance approximately 11.7 kilometres; thence eastwards to the source of Mweneshi River proceeding between beacon ZP118 and Mulombwi stream to the source of the unnamed stream; thence down this unnamed stream to its confluence with the Mweneshi River; thence down the Mweneshi River to its confluence with the Lukusashi River; thence in a north-easterly, south-easterly, southerly, easterly and south-westerly direction along the boundary of the Chisomo Game Management Area No. 15 to the source of an unnamed stream on the Muchinga Escarpment; thence down this an unnamed stream to its confluence with the Mfushi stream; thence down the Mfushi stream to its confluence with the Mpupushi River; thence down the Mpupushi River to its confluence with the Luangwa River; thence down the Luangwa River to latitude 13 degrees 56 minutes; thence due west along this latitude for approximately 85 kilometres to its intersection with the Mulembo River; thence up the Mulembo River to its source; thence in a north-westerly direction for approximately 8 kilometres to boundary beacon No. 1 of the Zambia - Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary (watershed section); thence due north to a point where the Zambia Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international boundary crosses the Musangashi River, the point of starting.

Starting at a point where the Blue Lagoon boundary meets Lubwato River at Katambo Fishing Camp on the Mumbwa-Kafue administrative boundary; thence the boundary proceeds in an easterly direction along the Kafue River up to Nakaiba Hills and proceeds along the Kafue River in a south-easterly direction and easterly along the Mumbwa/Mazabuka district administrative boundary up to a point where Mwembezhi River meets the Kafue River; thence the boundary proceeds in a northerly direction along the Mumbwa/Lusaka district administrative boundary through Kapili Kamamvwa Hill and Sanje Hill and continues on a northerly direction through Kanjombi Hill and Changula Hill up to Makombwe Stream; thence it joins the Mwembezhi River; thence the boundary proceeds in a westerly direction following the Makombwe Stream up to where it joins the Mwembezhi River; thence the boundary proceeds in a westerly direction along the Mumbwa/Chibombo district administrative boundary through Mashili Dam up to Kabile Stream; thence the boundary follows the northerly direction following the Kabile Stream crossing the Lusaka/Mongu Road until a point where it runs along the westerly boundary of Kawena Forest and continues following the western boundary of the Kawena Forest up to Namakolongo Stream; thence the boundary proceeds in a south-westerly direction of the Kawena Forest Reserve for 7.5 km; thence continues in a south-easterly direction through west of Lutondo Basic School; thence the boundary proceeds in a southerly direction crossing the old Mongu Road in an easterly direction up to a point 9 km on the Mongu-Lusaka Road; thence the boundary turns in a southerly direction passing through a point of 1.5 km east of Makuyu Aboombe Basic School up to Blue Lagoon Road; thence the boundary proceeds in an easterly direction for approximately 1.5 km and turns in a southerly direction up to Lubwato River, the point of starting.

CHINGOLA DISTRICT

PETAUKE DISTRICT

Starting at the confluence of Vitukutu Stream and Luangwa River, the boundary follows in the northerly direction along the Luangwa River up to where the road D790 crosses the Luangwa River. Thence the boundary proceeds in the north-easterly direction to a point with provincial coordinates (E528029, N8909406) being he confluence of Luangwa River with Mpembe Stream, thence it follows along Mpembe Stream in the north-easterly direction to a point with provisional coordinates (E528920, N8910911) being the confluence of Mpembe Stream with Kasoa Stream. Thence its proceed along Kasoa Stream in the easterly direction up to a point with provisional coordinates (540455, N8903539) being the assumed source of the Kasoa Stream. Thence the boundary proceeds in the easterly direction to join the Mafinga Mountain and Namitawa Hill up to the point where the Namitawa Hill joins the international boundary of Zambia and Malawi on approximate coordinate (E5405126, N8903458). Thence the boundary follows the international boundary in the south easterly direction to join the district boundary of Cham District. Thence the boundary follows the south-westerly direction up to the source of Chire or Luwumbu River and follows downstream along Chire or Luwumbu River up to its confluence with Matendo Stream. Thence if follows a northerly direction for approximately 10 kilometers to the source of Kamimbe Stream in the Mukutu Hills and continues down the stream in the northerly direction up to its confluence with Chilumbe Stream. Thence if proceeds in the north-westerly direction to the source of Vitukutu Stream and down that stream to its confluence with the Luangwa river, the starting point.

MWINILUNGA DISTRICT

Starting at the point on the Zambia-Zaire International Boundary, approximately 1 kilometre to the East of the source of the Manguma River, the boundary runs in a straight line Eastwards to the said source; thence South-Westwards down this stream to its confluence with the Ngohzo River; thence down the Ngohzo River to its confluence with the Kabompo River; thence continuing South-Westwards down the Kabompo River to its confluence with the West Lunga River; thence Westwards up the Ndashi Stream to the most Southerly of its two sources; thence in a straight line South-Westwards for a distance of approximately 8 kilometres to the source of the Lwampali Stream; thence down the Lwampali Stream; thence Northwards up the latter stream for a distance of approximately 9.5 kilometres to its confluence with an unnamed stream; thence Westwards up this unnamed stream to its source; thence in a straight line Westwards to the source of the Malembela River; thence Westwards down the Malembela River to its confluence with the Nyela River on the Zambia-Angola Boundary; thence Northwards following this boundary to the common boundary beacon of the Zambia-Angola-Zaire International Boundaries; thence Southwards and Eastwards following the Zambia-Zaire International Boundary, to the point of starting.

Starting at Beacon KNPW 32 and approximately 70 kilometres to the confluence of Mwengwa and Kafue River; thence in an easterly direction for approximately 40 kilometres to Chinenga Old Boma; thence in the easterly direction for approximately 43 kilometres to Chalobeti Hills; thence in a south-easterly direction through a point on the Chibila River 1.5 kilometres south of the crossing of the Old Mumbwa Namwala main path for a distance of approximately 7 kilometres to a point in an easterly direction of Chibila River; thence in a south-westerly direction for approximately 12 kilometres to Shimalula Pool; thence in an easterly direction for approximately 24 kilometres; thence in a south-easterly direction for 28 kilometres to a point about 9.5 kilometres in a south-westerly direction of Beacon E65A of Farm No. 3131 "Blue Lagoon"; thence in a southerly direction to a point on the Kafue River 6.5 kilometres from the north-westerly Beacon V of Farm No. 55a "Lochinvar"; thence up the Kafue River to a point approximately 3 kilometres downstream of the confluence of the Kafue River and Baunza Stream; thence through the centre line of Mulela Plain leaving the Kashishi Stream in an easterly and through the Ilumba Plain for a distance of approximately 32 kilometres to the source of the Nombanga Stream; thence in a straight line to the confluence of the Sikalete Stream with an unnamed tributary and continuing in the same direction for a distance of approximately 5 kilometres; thence in a south-easterly direction passing through the Shapuya Hills for a distance of approximately 28 kilometres to Beacon G on the Shapuwa Stream approximately 1.5 kilometres in an easterly direction of the point where the path from Kalomo to Luchena crosses the Shapuya Stream; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 27 kilometres to the southern edge of the Idiamaala Pool; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 55 kilometres to the source of the Siazingu River on the watershed between Nanzhila, Choma, Kafwifwi, Nkaka and Musa Rivers on the northerly direction and the Ngwezi, Mulobezi and Kalobe Rivers on a southerly direction; thence in a northerly direction along this watershed passing through Beacon KNPW 1 to KNPW 31, inclusive for a distance of approximately 205 kilometres to Beacon KNPW 32, the point of starting.

thence along this ungazetted road in the direction to Kalomo town for approximately 3 kilometers; thence along this ungazetted road in north westerly direction to the boundary of the Tonga (Choma) Reserve and Trust Land No. XVI, a point approximately 1kilometer of Trig Station ZP26; Starting at the confluence of the Kalomo River with the Zambezi River, the boundary follows Kalomo River upstream to its confluence with the Nandukala Stream; thence upstream the Nandukala Stream for approximately 20 kilometers, to a point due east of Kenda Range; thence westwards for approximately 4.5 kilometers to Kenda Range; thence south westwards for approximately 12 kilometers to Beacon F31 0; thence along the northern boundaries of Farm Nos. 426a and 422a to Beacon D, the northerly beacon of Farm 422a; thence north westwards. and north eastwards along the boundaries of Farm No. 3555 (formerly Farm No. 972) passing through Muchinga Hills, Beacons Y34 and 1240 to 1269; thence north eastwards and north westwards along the boundaries of Farm No. 860, Makoli Reserve East passing through Beacon 1262 to Beacon 1261, the north western corner beacon of this farm and on the edge of Zambia Railways Strip Reserve; thence northwards along the Zambia Railways Strip Reserve to Beacon 1247 on the western edge of the Zambia Railways Strip Reserve; thence along the northern and western boundaries of a Farm No. 854 through Beacon 1248 to 1249, on the northern boundary of Farm No. 856; thence the northern and western boundaries of Farm No. 856 through Beacon 1256 to the point where Makoli River crosses the western boundaries of Farm No. 856; thence down the Makoli River to its confluence with the Nasian konga River; thence down the Nasian konga River to its confluence with the Ngwezi River; thence up the Ngwezi River for approximately 10 kilometers to a point where it meets the road from Nyawato Zimba town; thence in an easterly direction the boundary follows the Zimba Nyawa Road for approximately 19 kilometers passing through Zimba Hills Local Forest Area No.1 0 to a point on this road approximately 4 kilometers due west of Zimba Town; thence north eastwards for approximately 12 kilometers to a point were it crosses over the Zambia Railway Strip Reserve and the Road T1; thence it proceeds in a south, south eastwards direction for approximately 23.5 kilometers passing through Trig Station ZP 31, then follows the ungazetted road to its junction with another ungazetted road; thence in an easterly direction for approximately 16 kilometers along this road passing through Luesito Kalomo River; thence up the Kalomo River in a north easterly direction for approximately 3.5 kilometers to its confluence with unnamed tributary; thence eastwards up this tributary passing through its source to the road junction of ungazetted road; thence it continues in an easterly direction along this ungazetted road to the boundary of Trust Land No. XVI and Tonga (Choma) Reserve; thence in a north, north eastwards direction for approximately 13 kilometers to a point where it joins the ungazetted road from Kalomo Town to Kabanga Mission approximately 1 kilometer from Trig Station ZP26; thence along this road in the direction to Kabanga Mission for approximately 3 kilometers to its junction with another ungazetted road; thence along this un gazetted road in an easterly direction for approximately 12 kilometers passing below Kanchele Clinic and Post Office to a point approximately 4 kilometers due west of Pooiwal; thence continues in a generally eastward direction to Mabele River; thence down Mabele River to its confluence with Zhimu River; thence down Zhimu River to a point where it emerges from the Zambezi Valley Escarpment; thence in a south westerly direction along the edge of the Zambezi Valley Escarpment to the northern edge of the Malabo Range of Hills; thence southwards along the Malabo Range of Hills of Kamateyo Hill; thence due west for approximately 26 kilometres to the source of Mutola River; thence down the Mutola River to its confluence with the Zambezi River; thence in a straight line to a point on the Zambia Zimbabwe International Boundary; thence upstream the Zambezi River and along the International Boundary to a point opposite the confluence of the Kalomo River with the Zambezi River; thence in straight line to the confluence of the Kalomo River with the Zambezi River, the point of starting.

Starting at latitude 14 degrees South on the Zambia-Angola International Boundary, the boundary runs in a South-Easterly direction for approximately 64 kilometres to the confluence of the Mulonga Stream and the Luambimba River; thence down the Luambimba River to its confluence with the Walote Stream; thence in a South-Easterly direction for approximately 27 kilometres to the confluence of the Luena River and the Zambezi River; thence down the Zambezi River to its confluence with the Luanginga River; thence up the Luanginga River to its confluence with the Ilukuti Canal; thence along the IIukuti Canal to Simbuyu Lake; thence across Simbuyu Lake to IIute Canal; thence along the IIute Canal to Lake IIute; thence due West to a point immediately North of Manduwani Village and due West of the North Western limit of Lake IIute; thence Southwards along the Western edge of the Kalamba Forest for approximately 52 kilometres; thence in a South-Westerly direction for approximately 59 kilometres to a point on the Southern Lueti River; thence in a South-Westerly direction for approximately 70 kilometres to Boundary Pillar 37 on the Zambia-Angola International Boundary; thence along this International Boundary to the point where latitude 14 degrees South intersects this International Boundary, the point of starting.

Starting at a confluence of the Luena River and Kangologolo Stream the boundary follows in the north-westerly direction in a straight line for a distance of approximately 8 kilometres to the confluence of Namimbwe Stream and Kantinkwe Stream; thence up the Namimbwe Stream to its source; thence proceeds along ungazetted road passing through Katoya Basic School to a point on the Lalafuta River; thence up the Lalafuta River to its source; thence in a southerly direction along the watershed of the Zambezi River and Kafue River for a distance approximately 70 kilometres; thence in a north-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 52 kilometres up to the confluence of Longe Stream and Mushoka Stream; thence along the Longe Stream down to its confluence with Luena River; thence down the Luena River crossing over the Road M9 (Lusaka Mongu Road) to its confluence with the Kangolongolo Stream, the point of starting.

SHANGOMBO DISTRICT

Starting at the confluence of the Zambezi River with the Lumbe River the boundary proceeds in a south-south-western direction for a distance of approximately 20 kilometres to the Nalusuku Pool; thence in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 5 kilometres to Kashoka Old Village; thence in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 15 kilometres to Selonga Old Village; thence in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 9 kilometres to Changa Pool; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 18 kilometres to Malombe Pool; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 9 kilomtres to Kasaya Pool; thence in a south-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 29 kilometres to the confluence of the Kalabo Dambo and the Kwando River; thence up the Kwando River following the Zambia-Angola International Boundary to Boundary Pillar No. 37; thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 70 kilometres to a point on the Southern Lueti River; thence down the Southern Lueti River to its confluence with the Zambezi River; thence down the Zambezi River passing on the eastern edges of Sitoti, Mbeta and Nabulungu Islands to its confluence with the Lumbe River; the point of starting.
