This Order may be cited as the Public Service Pensions (Public Service Prescription) Order, 1999.
2. Prescription of Public Service
The institutions set out in the schedule to this Order are hereby prescribed as Public Service for purpose of the Act.

This Order may be cited as the Public Pensions (Constitution of Fund) Order, 1999.
There is hereby constituted the Public Service Pensions Fund for the purposes of the Act.

These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service (Retirement Age) Regulations, 2014.
In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires-
"officer" means a person serving on pensionable terms in the Public Service who has been confirmed in the person's appointment; and
"Public Service" means the Judicial Service, the Civil Service, the Defence Forces, the Police and Prisons Service, the Teaching Service and the Zambia Security Intelligence Service.
These Regulations do not apply to-
(a) a member of the Defence Force;
(b) an officer of or below the rank of Chief Inspector in the Police Force; or
(c) an officer of or below the rank of Chief Officer III in the Prison Service.
4. Age of retirement of officer
(1) Notwithstanding section 33 of the Act, and subject to sub-regulation (2), an officer shall retire on the 60th anniversary of the date of the officer's birth.
(2) An officer may, on giving 12 month's notice, and subject to the approval of the President, retire on attaining the age of 55 or 65 years.

An officer who retires under regulation 4 shall, with effect from the date of the officer's retirement, be entitled to retirement benefits as specified in paragraph (a) or (b) of section 41 of the Act, as the case may be.
6. Revocation of SI 76 of 2006
The Zambia Security Intelligence Service (Retirement Age and Benefits) Regulations, 2006, are revoked.
